Kentucky-bound Lee dazzles; Pleasant Grove wins at Tribute

Kentucky scholarship signee Marcus Lee, a pogo-jumping 6-foot-10 center, put on a show of dunking, shot-blocking and behind-the-back, length-of-the-court dribbling in leading Deer Valley of Antioch to a 79-59 win over No. 12 Jesuit in tonight's finale of the four-game, 11th annual Father Kelly Tribute showcase and charity benefit at Jesuit High School.

Lee and teammate Kendall Smith, a dazzling 6-3 senior guard, each finished with 21 points for the Wolverines (10-3). Sophomore Isaiah Bailey had 16 points and 6-8 Brady Anderson added 11 for Jesuit (8-8).

In other games:

No. 3 Pleasant Grove 64, Newark Memorial 57 - Trailing 53-48 with 3:37 to play, the Eagles (12-3) outscored the Cougars (6-6) 16-4 in the final 3:37. Senior captains Malik Thames (22 points), Matt Hayes (20) and Cole Nordquist (19) scored all but three of the Eagles' points. Joey Frenchwood led Newark Memorial (6-6) with 21 points.

Campolindo-Moraga 75, Foothill 59 - Behind sophomores Chris Hansen and Matt O'Reilly, the Cougars (9-4) turned a one-point lead at halftime, 30-29, into an easy win over the Mustangs (5-10). O'Reilly had 22 points and the 6-6 Hansen added 18 points and 12 rebounds. Douglas James led Foothill with 15 points.

San Leandro 60, Franklin 43 - Behind senior Kenon Noble, the Pirates (10-3) unleashed a second-half three-point barrage to overcome a four-point halftime deficit against the Wildcats (6-9). Noble finished with a game-high 24 points, including five threes, all in the second half. Marvin Timothy led Franklin with 12 points.
