The Sac-Joaquin Section released its first girls basketball power ratings this morning.
Sixteen teams qualify in Divisions I through IV; 12 in D-V and eight in D-VI. Under a new section rule, if a team wins at least 15 games and does not qualify for the tournament by the power rating system, that team will be added to the tournament.
Here's a brief look at each division:
Division I - Top four: 1. Oak Ridge, 2. St. Mary's-Stockton; 3. Kennedy; 4. Armijo-Fairfield. Outside looking in: Franklin, No. 22.
Division II - Top four: 1. Sacramento; 2. McNair-Stockton; 3. Gregori-Modesto; 4. Del Oro. Outside looking in: Whitney, No. 21, Cordova, No. 22, Ponderosa, No. 23.
Division III - Top four: 1. Christian Brothers, 2. Rio Americano; 3. Vanden-Fairfield; 4. Modesto Christian. Outside looking in: Natomas, No. 17; Woodland, No. 18; Lincoln, No. 19; Foothill, No. 20.
Division IV - Top four: 1. Bear River; 2. Colfax; 3. Argonaut-Jackson; 4. West Campus. Outside looking in - San Juan, No. 18.
Division V - Top four: 1. Brookside Christian-Stockton; 2. Turlock Christian; 3. Ripon Christian; 4. Central Catholic-Modesto.
Division VI - Top two: 1. Victory Christian; 2. New Life Christian-Olivehurst. Outside looking in: Wilton Christian, No. 11.
