The Sac-Joaquin Section released its first boys basketball power ratings this morning.
Sixteen teams qualify in Divisions I through IV; 12 in D-V and eight in D-VI. Under a new section rule, if a team wins at least 15 games and does not qualify for the tournament by the power rating system, that team will be added to the tournament.
Here's a brief look at each division:
Division I - Top four: 1. Sheldon, 2. Granite Bay, 3. Bella Vista, 4. Lincoln-Stockton. Outside looking in: Woodcreek, No. 18; Jesuit, No. 23.
Division II - Top four: 1. St. Mary's-Stockton; 2. Antelope; 3. Sacramento; 4. Cosumnes Oaks. Outside looking in: River City, No. 17; Del Oro, No. 23. No. 19 Roseville (17-5) already has 15 qualifying wins.
Division III - Top four: 1. Sierra-Manteca; 2. Casa Roble; 3. Modesto Christian; 4. Weston Ranch-Stockton. Outside looking in: Rio Americano, No. 19, Lindhurst, No. 20, El Dorado, No. 21.
Division IV - Top four: 1. Summerville, 2. Liberty Ranch, No. 3 Riverbank, No. 4 Colfax. Outside looking in, Highlands, No. 20, Union Mine, No. 22.
Division V - Top four: 1. Capital Christian, 2. Ripon Christian, No. 3 Brookside Christian-Stockton; No. 4 Delta. Outside looking in: No. 13 Delta Charter, No. 15 Sacramento Waldorf.
Division VI - Top two: 1. Faith Christian-Yuba City, 2. New Life Christian-Olivehurst. Outside looking in: No. 9 Sacramento Adventist, No. 10, Sacramento Country Day.
