Baby powder stunt forces SFL rivalry game to be moved

The boys basketball game started tonight at Woodcreek High School. It ended a few hours later at neighboring Roseville High School.

The Sierra Foothill League game between Roseville and Woodcreek was moved after several delays caused by the tossing of baby powder - ala LeBron James - by some members of Woodcreek's spirited "Black Mob" rooting section.

That caused a giant cloud to balloon, forcing officials to delay the start of the game. Then the game was stopped several times because of complaints of a slippery floor.

Officials decided to finish the game at Roseville, where the Tigers won 87-71 on their home court.

Cole Jacobs' had 24 points and Roman Tyukayev added 19 for Roseville.

The win keeps Roseville (19-5, 4-3) in a three-way tie for second in league with Del Oro and Rocklin and a game-behind first place Granite Bay, which lost tonight to Del Oro.

Tyler Milani had 29 points and Nick Howe 27 for Woodcreek (12-12, 3-4).
