Boys Top 20: Del Oro win vs. Granite Bay tightens SFL race

Unranked Del Oro kept alive its hopes of repeating as Sierra Foothill League boys basketball champions tonight by beating No. 7 Granite Bay 72-56 in Loomis.

Del Oro trailed 34-30 at the half before outscoring Granite Bay 19-11 in the third quarter and 23-11 in the final period.

The win moves the Golden Eagles (16-8, 4-3) to within a game of the Grizzlies (17-7, 5-2) with three games to play.

Connor Drake had 16 points, Trevor Pistochini 15 and Keenan Finney 14 for Del Oro. Sherron Bradford and Daniel Romero each had 13 points to lead Granite Bay, which suffered its second consecutive loss.

The Grizzlies fell 99-91 in overtime to Roseville on Wednesday.

NO. 1 SHELDON 80, JESUIT 56 - Dakarai Allen had 24 points, eight rebounds and five assists and Darin Johnson had 19 points, eight deflections and three steals to lead the Huskies (18-4, 7-0) over the Marauders (11-13, 2-5) in a Delta River League game in Carmichael. D'Erryl Williams added 14 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals and freshman Devin Greene had five steals as Sheldon now gets ready to face NorCal No. 1 Salesian of Richmond in the Bay Area Saturday night. Sheldon is ranked No. 2 by NorCalPreps.com. Lake Lutes led Jesuit with 28 points.

NO. 2 PLEASANT GROVE 69, PONDEROSA 54 - Cole Nordquist had 23 points and Matthew Hayes added 15 as the Eagles (19-4, 6-1) downed the Bruins (8-16, 0-7) in a DRL game in Elk Grove.

NO. 4 SACRAMENTO 84, ROSEMONT 36 - Freshman Devin Young had 18 points and nine rebounds and Aaron Cameron and James Hadnot each added 13 points as the Dragons (18-6, 10-1) beat the Wolverines (3-21, 0-11) in a Metro Conference game in Rosemont.

NO. 6 BELLA VISTA 59, OAKMONT 52 - Austin Hennen had 17 points and Tyler Berkness 14 to lead the Broncos (19-5, 7-0) over the Vikings (7-15, 1-6) in a Capital Valley Conference game in Roseville.

NO. 8 ROCKLIN 80, NEVADA UNION 61 - Devin Moss had 16 points, Drew Ardissone 14 and Hayden Cook 13 as the Thunder (16-8, 4-3) defeated the Miners (8-16, 1-6) in an SFL game in Rocklin. The win moves Rocklin, tied with Del Oro, to within a game of first-place Granite Bay.

NO. 11 CASA ROBLE 49, CHRISTIAN BROTHERS 32 - Eric and Mason Stuteville combined for 27 points as the Rams (19-5, 6-1) downed the Falcons (12-12, 3-4) and remain a game behind Bella Vista in the CVC.

No. 12 DEL CAMPO 68, RIO LINDA 46 - Vasilije Saraba had 24 points and Modesta Britten added 13 as the Cougars (17-7, 4-3) defeated the Knights (6-15, 0-7) in a CVC game in Fair Oaks.

NO. 15 COLFAX 60, NO. 13 PLACER 44 - Will Buell had 21 points and Taylor Dorsey added 14 to lead the Falcons (19-5, 5-2) over the Hillmen (17-7, 4-3) in a Pioneer Valley League game in Auburn.

NO. 14 LINCOLN 45, CENTER 44 - Marcus Salgado's 22 points helped the Fighting Zebras (19-5, 6-1) to slip past the fiesty Cougars (6-17, 1-6) in Antelope and remain atop the PVL.

NO. 18 GRANT 64, FRANKLIN 53 - De'Sean Parsons had 23 and Kameron Bradley added 12 as the Pacers (18-7, 6-2) moved a game ahead of the four-time defending champion Wildcats (12-13, 5-3) in the Delta Valley Conference game in Del Paso Heights.

NO. 19 OAK RIDGE 39, FOLSOM 38 - Josh Simms had 10 points and Grant Dean nine as the Trojans (14-10, 4-3) rallied to beat the Bulldogs (11-13, 2-5) in a DRL game in Folsom.
