Girls Top 20: No. 2 Oak Ridge finishes league unbeaten

Oak Ridge jumped to a 21-6 first-quarter lead then coasted to a 68-31 win over Ponderosa in a Delta River League girls basketball finale tonight in El Dorado Hills.

With the win, the Trojans (23-3, 10-0) finish unbeaten in league.

Celeste Vitolas had 14 points and Shelby Peters 12 for Oak Ridge. Ponderosa finishes 14-13 overall and 3-7 in league.

In other girls games involving top 20 teams reported to The Bee:

NO. 4 NEVADA UNION 70, ROSEVILLE 27 - Sydney Porter had 14 points, Nicole Lierly 12 and Sammy DeHart 10 as the Miners (21-4, 9-1) defeated the Tigers (3-23, 0-10) in the Sierra Foothill League finale in Grass Valley. Lindsay Anderson had 16 for Roseville.

NO. 5 BRADSHAW CHRISTIAN 61, VACAVILLE CHRISTIAN 8 - The Pride (23-2, 12-0) held a 42-2 halftime lead en route to the Sierra Delta League win over the host Falcons (1-25, 0-12). Erika Bean led the Pride with 16 points. Hailey Kenyon had all eight Vacaville Christian points.

NO. 7 CHRISTIAN BROTHERS 67, BELLA VISTA 41 - Anna Burch had 19 points and Niel Valmores added 14 to lead the Falcons (20-7, 10-0) over the Broncos (19-8, 7-3) in a Capital Valley Conference game in Fair Oaks. Teryn Jackson led Bella Vista with 14 points.

NO. 8 PLEASANT GROVE 74, SHELDON 69 - Dejza James had 26 points and Avonna Lee 21 to lead the Eagles (19-8, 7-3) over the Huskies (11-15, 5-5) in the DRL finale at Pleasant Grove. Alyna Kanae led four Sheldon players in double figures with 13 points.

NO. 12 ROCKLIN 69, GRANITE BAY 50 - Jordan Purvis had 16 points and Kelsey Summers added 11 points as the Thunder (19-8, 7-3) defeated the Grizzles (11-16, 2-8) in an SFL game in Rocklin.

NO. 13 DEL ORO 50, WOODCREEK 31 - Stephanie Geyer's 11 points led 10 players in the scoring column as the Golden Eagles (17-10, 7-3) topped the Timberwolves (13-14, 5-5) in an SFL game in Loomis. Aliya Davis had 19 points for Woodcreek.

NO. 14 ST. FRANCIS 62, FOLSOM 22 - Najah Queenland's 13 points led 14 players in the scoring column as the Troubadours (14-12, 5-5) downed the Bulldogs (5-22, 0-10) in a DRL finale in East Sacramento.
