Girls Top 20: No. 2 Oak Ridge tops No. 8 St. Francis 50-38

Haley Anderson had 20 points and Ali Bettencourt added 15 as No. 2 Oak Ridge defeated No. 8 St. Francis 50-38 in a Delta River League girls basketball game tonight in East Sacramento.

Najah Queenland topped St. Francis with 15 points.

St. Francis (13-10, 4-4) led 20-17 at halftime, but the Trojans (21-3, 8-0) outscored the Troubadours 17-4 in the third quarter.

NO. 6 NEVADA UNION 82, GRANITE BAY 32 - The Miners (20-4, 7-1) jumped to a 24-8 first-quarter lead and Sydney Porter had 21 points to lead the Miners past the Grizzlies (11-14, 2-6) in the Sierra Foothill League game in Granite Bay.

No. 7 CHRISTIAN BROTHERS 69, DEL CAMPO 44 - Ana Burch had 15 points, Kira McKechnie 12 and Niel Valmores 11 as the Falcons (18-7, 8-0) defeated the Cougars (12-13, 5-3) in a Capital Valley Conference game in Fair Oaks. Megan Roberson led Del Campo with 16 points.

No. 9 PLEASANT GROVE 61, FOLSOM 27 - The Eagles (17-8, 5-3) outscored Folsom 15-0 in the first quarter en route to the DRL win over the Bulldogs (5-20, 0-8) in Folsom. Pleasant Grove's Dejza James led all scorers with 16 points.

No. 17 PLACER 48, No. 12 BEAR RIVER 46 - The Hillgals (22-4, 7-2) outscored the Bruins 16-11 in the final quarter to prevail in the Pioneer Valley League showdown game in Lake of the Pines. Kerry McCullough led nine Placer players in scoring with nine points. Savannah Welz topped Bear River (22-3, 7-2) with 15 points. Placer, Bear River and Colfax are in a three-way tie for first.

No. 14 ROCKLIN 40, WOODCREEK 39 - Lydia Summers had 15 points and the Thunder (17-8, 5-3) held off a Timberwolves (12-13, 4-4) team desperately trying to qualify for the postseason in the Sierra Foothill League game in Roseville. Shannon Cunningham and Samantha Turner led Woodcreek with 10 points apiece. Woodcreek is No. 18 in the current Division I power ratings. Only the top 16 teams or those with 15 wins or more qualify for the postseason.

No. 15 DEL ORO 53, ROSEVILLE 26 - Stephanie Geyer's 15 points led 12 Golden Eagles (16-9, 6-2) in the scoring column in their Sierra Foothill League win over the Tigers (3-21, 0-8).

No. 18 COLFAX 56, CENTER 36 - The Falcons (17-9, 7-2) jumped to a 20-6 first-quarter lead to roll past the Cougars (11-15, 3-6) in the PVL game in Antelope.

NO. 19 RIVER CITY 60, UNION MINE 33 -- Tori Torres had 15 points and Rayelle Ross 12 as the Raiders (18-8, 11-0) defeated the Diamondbacks (18-7, 5-5) in a Sierra Valley Conference contest in West Sacramento.

NO. 20 WEST CAMPUS 61, MARYSVILLE 40 - Haley Shaner, Veronica Mendoza and Barbara Keomany each had eight points in leading the Warriors (18-8, 9-0) over the Indians (11-15, 3-6) in the Golden Empire League game at West Campus.
