Hildebrand steps down as Woodcreek football coach

John Hildebrand has stepped down after six years as Woodcreek High School's head football coach to spend more time with his family.

Hildebrand, 34, had a 22-41 overall record and 8-22 mark in the rugged Sierra Foothill League, including 2-8 and 0-5 this past season.

His most successful team was the 2008 squad that finished 6-6 overall, 3-2 in league and beat Oak Ridge 31-24 in the first round of the Sac-Joaquin Section Division II playoffs.

The Timberwolves then lost 49-14 to eventual section and CIF State Bowl champion Grant.
