The Sac-Joaquin Section released its second and final (for public view) girls basketball power ratings this morning.
Sixteen teams qualify in Divisions I through IV; 12 in D-V and eight in D-VI.
Under a new section rule, if a team wins at least 15 games and does not qualify for the tournament by the power rating system, that team will be added to the tournament.
The section will release the playoff brackets on Feb. 13.
Here's a brief look at each division:
DIVISION I - 1. Oak Ridge; 2. St. Mary's-Stockton; 3. Kennedy; 4. Nevada Union. Bubble team: Sheldon, No. 15. Outside looking in: Woodcreek, No. 18; Franklin, No. 22. No. 20 Bella Vista has 15 qualifying wins.
DIVISION II - 1. Sacramento; 2. McNair-Stockton; No. 3 Gregori-Modesto; 4. Buhach Colony-Atwater. Bubble team: El Camino, No. 14; Outside looking in: Ponderosa (has 13 wins), No. 18; Whitney, No. 20; Burbank, No. 21; Cordova, No. 22.
DIVISION III - 1. Christian Brothers; 2. Rio Americano; 3. Vanden; 4. Modesto Christian. Bubble teams: Center, No. 15; Natomas, No. 16. Outside looking in: El Dorado, No. 20; Lincoln, No. 21; Foothill, No. 22; Woodland, No. 23.
DIVISION IV - 1. Bear River; 2. Argonaut; 3. Colfax; 4. Ripon. Outside looking in - Marysville, No. 20. No. 18 San Juan (16-9) has 15 qualifying wins.
DIVISION V - 1. Brookside Christian-Stockton; 2. Capital Christian; 3. Turlock Christian; No. 4 Ripon Christian. Bubble team: Forest Lake Christian, No. 11.
DIVISION VI - 1. New Life Christian-Olivehurst; 2. Valley Christian-Roseville. Bubble team: Sacramento Adventist, No. 8; Outside looking in - Lutheran, No. 10; Wilton Christian, No. 12.
