Valley Christian sophomore girls basketball player Lily Hagarty, already one of the Sac-Joaquin Section's top scorers, ramped up her game even more in the postseason with a section-tying playoff scoring performance.
The 5-foot-8 guard tied a 20-year-old mark when she scored 49 points in an 82-35 win against Trinity Prep of Napa last Tuesday in Roseville. Del Campo's Danielle Viglione scored 49 points in a game against Wood in 1993.
Hagarty, averaging 21.8 points a game, followed that up with 27 points in the Lions' 55-26 win Thursday over New Life Christian of Marysville.
On Thursday she will lead No. 2 Valley Christian (16-9) against top-seeded Victory Christian (21-5) in the 6 p.m. D-VI girls championship game at Galt High School.
Victory Christian won last year's inaugural event (45-37 over Wilton Christian) for schools with enrollments of 150 students or less who opt not to play up in D-V.
