Cosumnes Oaks junior Alex Van Dyke, Placer senior Isaiah Pineiro and Capital Christian junior Nifae Lealao have made Cal-Hi Sports' annual All-State Grid-Hoop Teams.
Van Dyke, the son of former NFL player Alex Van Dyke Sr., was named to the second team.
He averaged 18.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.1 steals this season in leading the Wolfpack to the Sac-Joaquin Section boys basketball quarterfinals, where they lost 63-59 in overtime to Grant on Friday.
The 6-foot-4 Van Dyke was a Cal-Hi All-State Underclass and Bee All-Metro second team wide receiver for Cosumnes Oaks in the fall. He had 44 catches for 864 yards and 10 touchdowns.
The 6-3 Pineiro was named to the fourth team.
He averaged 19 points for a Hillmen basketball team that fell 71-51 to Sierra of Manteca in the D-III quarterfinals on Friday.
In football, Pineiro was on The Bee's All-Metro first team as a defensive back. He had nine interceptions to rank among the section leaders and helped Placer to an 11-1 record.
Van Dyke and Pineiro were two of only five Northern California players to make the top four five-man all-state teams.
Cal-Hi also listed 25 additional all-state players, including the 6-6, 275-pound Lealao.
He was the All-Golden Empire League lineman, who has led the defending D-V section champion boys basketball team into this year's semifinals. He's averaging 12.2 points and 7.2 rebounds.
Mission Viejo's Max Redfield, who has signed a football letter of intent with Notre Dame, was named the State Player of the Year.
Three area players - Del Campo's Matt Barnes (1997-'98) and Norte Del Rio's Reggie (1981-'82) and Don Rogers (1979-'80) -- have been named All-State Player of the Year since Cal-Hi founder and editor Mark Tennis started compiling the Grid-Hoops All-State teams in 1979.
