Antelope's Tyler Ellis verbally commits to New Mexico State

Antelope senior forward Tyler Ellis has verbally committed to play women's basketball for New Mexico State.

The 6-foot-1 Ellis, a four-year varsity player for coach Sean Chambers, averaged 18.8 points and 17.4 rebounds this season for the Titans (19-9).

Chambers called Ellis one of the best girls rebounders he has seen in the area "in a very long time."

"Tyler has the most unique set of skills I've seen for a player her size," added Chambers, the former Highlands star who played professionally overseas. "Great hands, feet and instincts. She has an extremely high-level basketball IQ."

Ellis, a two-time All-Capital Valley Conference selection, is the twin of Antelope boys star Isaiah Ellis, the CVC Player of the Year.

He has yet to announce where he will play college basketball.
