D-V state girls final: Sophomores lead Sierra Canyon to win

Sophomore Kennedy Burke had 14 points, 16 rebounds and five blocked shots and sophomore Cheyanne Wallace added 11 rebounds, seven points and three blocks as Sierra Canyon of Chatsworth defeated Pinewood of Los Altos Hills 47-33 in today's CIF State Division V girls championship game at Sleep Train Arena.

Sophomoe Gabi Nevill added nine points and junior Zoe Goss eight points and six rebounds for the Trailblazers (24-9), who were making their first state girls basketball title appearance.

Gabi Bade led Pinewood (24-8) with eight points and seven rebounds while Leeana Bade added seven points and eight rebounds.

Pinewood entered the game seeking their fifth D-V girls state title.
