Jason Stowers named Woodcreek's new football coach

Former Del Oro and Colfax assistant Jason Stowers has been named Woodcreek's new football coach.

During his 11 seasons at Colfax, Stowers served in several capacities, including nine seasons as defensive coordinator and special teams coach. He spent the last three years as an assistant at Del Oro.

"Jason brings a wealth of experience as a football coach and teacher from two outstanding schools in the area - Colfax and Del Oro," Woodcreek principal Jess Borjon said in an e-mail. "We are excited about the energy and passion he brings to Woodcreek High School and are looking forward to working with him."

Stowers replaces John Hildebrand, who stepped down after six seasons as coach to spend more time with his family.
