Pleasant Grove, Sac High and Capital Christian advance; Antelope, Grant, Liberty Ranch eliminated in NorCal boys

Three area boys basketball teams will join the Sheldon boys in CIF Northern California Regional semifinal play after winning games tonight.

Here are tonight's highlights:

• Malik Thames had 18 points and Matthew Hayes added 13 as No. 2 seeded Pleasant Grove defeated No. 10 Piedmont Hills of San Jose 60-36 in Elk Grove. The Eagles will play host Tuesday to No. 6 De La Salle of Concord, a 43-39 winner over No. 3 San Leandro.

• Freshman Devin Young had 20 points, 14 rebounds and eight blocked shots and De'Von Boyd added 19 points and five rebounds as No. 5 Sacramento defeated Grant 77-52 in Del Paso Heights. De'Sean Parson had 22 points for Grant. Sacramento will play Tuesday at top-seeded Dublin, an 86-75 winner of No. 8 El Camino of South San Francisco.
• No. 10 St. Francis came to No. 2 Antelope, took a 33-22 halftime lead, then held of the Titans for a 61-59 upset. The Lancers are 14-16 this season; Antelope finishes 25-7.

• No. 7 Liberty Ranch's Cinderella run came to an end with a 57-42 loss at No. 2 Riordan of San Francisco.

• Trey Belton had 17 points, Justice Shelton-Mosely 15, Nifae Lealao 14 and UC Iroegbu 12 as No. 2 Capital Christian defeated No. 7 Head Royce of Oakland 79-59 in Sacramento. The Cougars will play host Tuesday to No. 3 University High of San Francisco, a 79-69 winner over Central Catholic of Modesto.
