Sac High places four on 2014 girls basketball NorCal Top 40

Sacramento High, which lost in the CIF Northern California Regional girls basketball playoffs on Friday at St. Mary's of Berkeley, should be poised for another strong run next season.

Four of the eight area players in the Northern California's Class of 2014 Top 40, compiled by NorCalPreps.com, are Dragons.

They are 6-foot-4 post Ayanna Edwards at No. 7; 5-11 wing Chaya Durr at No. 11; 5-6 point guard Zonyia Cormier at No. 20; and 6-1 forward/post Simone Sheppard at No. 21.

Other area players to be ranked are No. 17, 6-2 post Dalayna Sampton of Florin; No. 18, 5-10 shooting guard Najah Queenland of St. Francis; No. 19, 6-1 post Aaliyah Pena of Pleasant Grove; and No. 26, 5-9 guard Jasmine Redmon, Monterey Trail.

St. Mary's guard duo of 6-1 Gabby Green and Mikayla Cowling are No. 1 and No. 2.
