26 schools to compete in Brian Noble boys volleyball tourney

Twenty six teams from across four sections will compete Saturday in the Brian Noble Invitational boys volleyball tournament at Granite Bay, Del Oro and Antelope high schools.

Among the teams entered are defending Sac-Joaquin Section Division I champion Granite Bay and two-time defending D-II champion Vista del Lago.

They join Jesuit, Del Oro, Oak Ridge, Ponderosa, Bear River, Whitney, Deer Valley of Antioch, Clovis, St. Francis of Mountain View, Clovis North, St. Ignatius of San Francisco, Clovis East, Los Gatos and College Park of Pleasant Hill for the 16-team top flight at Granite Bay and Del Oro.

Rio Americano, Christian Brothers, Woodcreek, El Dorado, Antelope, Florin, Oakmont, Capital Christian, Laguna Creek and the Granite Bay JVs will play in Flight 2 at Antelope.

Pool play starts at 8 a.m. at all three sites. Playoff rounds are scheduled to start between 1:30 and 2 p.m. Championship matches are set for 5 p.m. at the three sites.
