Curry, Bellotti among NorCal Sports' Hall of Fame inductees

Former Oregon football coach and UC Davis football player Mike Bellotti and former Olympic, UCLA and Davis High basketball star Denise Curry are among those who will be inducted into the 43rd annual Northern California Sports Association's Hall of Fame at a dinner on Saturday in Yuba City.

Also to be inducted will be Mark Cartwright (Yuba City High School, baseball), Richard McKray (Yuba HS baseball and softball coach), George Nicholau (Marysville HS, football, baseball and basketball; Cal football), Byron Randolph (Winters HS, baseball; Marysville High, baseball coaching), Rex Chappell (Nevada Union football; Sierra College football coach and player) and, posthumously, Homer "Buzz" Ostrom (as an athlete, coach and administrator).

In addition to the inductions, some $15,000 in scholarship money will be awarded to six high school seniors.

The event, which will be held at St. Isidore's Church, 200 Clark Ave. in Yuba City, starts with a reception at 4:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $25.
