Sac High's Massari named State D-II Coach of the Year

Sacramento High's Michele Massari has been named Cal-Hi Sports' State Division II Girls Coach of the Year.

Massari's Dragons had a 27-5 record this season, including 14-0 in the ultra-competitive Metro Conference, and won the Sac-Joaquin Section Division II title.

The Dragons beat D-I NorCal champion Berkeley in overtime at the West Coast Jamboree earlier in the season. They also became the first area girls team to compete in the CIF Northern California Regional Open Division.

Massari has a 132-35 career record with three consecutive section titles (the other two at D-III) and five Metro Conference banners. The Dragons are 62-0 in league play under Massari.

Bishop O'Dowd of Oakland's Malik McCord was the State and D-III Girls Coach of the Year after leading the Dragons to the State Open Division title.
