CBS' Snyder fans 16, tosses no-hitter against Bella Vista; No. 1 Rocklin, No. 5 Elk Grove lock up outright league championships

Christian Brothers' junior Haley Snyder struck out 16 and tossed a no-hitter in leading the Falcons to a 2-0 win over Bella Vista in the Capital Valley Conference softball finale today in Fair Oaks.

Snyder walked the first batter, then retired the next 21 to run her season record to 15-6 with an 0.52 ERA for No. 8 CBS (17-9, 8-2).

She finishes the regular season with 251 strikeouts in 141 innings.

In other games today:

• Top-ranked Rocklin (23-3, 13-2) broke open a close game with six runs in the sixth inning to beat Granite Bay 9-2 and lock up the outright Sierra Foothill League title. Sam Moffat went four-for-four with a double and two RBIs and Kendall Chambers tossed a four hitter.

• Delany DeMello and Kayla Fields combined for a four-hitter and Mackensie Priley had a double, single and two RBIs as No. 3 Roseville (19-7-1, 11-4) defeated No. 12 Del Oro 4-0 in Roseville.

• Amber Wright, Erikka Burke, Kim Wilburn and Victoria Saborio each had two hits as No. 5 Elk Grove (20-6, 9-1) defeated No. 15 Davis 11-1 in five innings to win the outright Delta Valley Conference title. Ashley Dufresne, Tarah Kalinen and Stephanie Cello each had two hits for Davis (16-9-1, 8-2).
