The Sacramento Bee Top 20 final regular-season poll run last week, and we'll publish the final Top 20 after the final game.
But, for the sake of a good debate, here's what the Top 20 would look like if we continued weekly through the Sac-Joaquin Section...

1. Folsom (10-0)
The Bulldogs last lost to De La Salle, capping a 14-1 season in 2012; wins over Oak Ridge, Granite Bay, Pleasant Grove.
2. Del Oro (9-2)
Unbeaten in section with wins over Grant, Rocklin, Granite Bay; Whitney next.
3. Oak Ridge (10-1)
Wins over Grant, Rocklin, Pleasant Grove, Jesuit. Lost to Folsom
4. Elk Grove (10-1)
Huge 7-3 win over prolific Grant; lost to Franklin and have Rio Linda next.
5. Rio Linda (10-1)
Monster test against Vacaville looms for a team that has won 10 straight.
6. Pleasant Grove (9-2)
Wins over Burbank, Rocklin, Jesuit and losses to Oak Ridge and Folsom.
7. Grant (9-2)
Wins over Burbank, Franklin and close losses to Oak Ridge, Del Oro, Elk Grove.
8. Granite Bay (8-3)

Tigers lost to Pleasant Grove and Rocklin early; major contender in D-III.
13. Yuba City (10-1)
The loss was to Inderkum with the big win in a playoff opener over St. Mary's. Grant looms.
14. Franklin (8-3)
Lost to Grant and Beat Elk Grove, but cannot have Wildcats ahead of Jesuit, which rolled Franklin. Folsom next
15. Whitney (8-3)

16. Center (8-3)
Cougars lost early to Rio Linda, beat Placer, and get Placer again in D-IV
17. Christian Brothers (8-3)
Falcons are a real threat in the D-III playoffs and take on top-seeded American Canyon.
18. Placer (6-5)
Hillmen lost to Center recently and get the Cougars again in D-IV play.
19. Casa Roble (8-3)
The Rams have losses to Inderkum and Rio Linda and now face No. 2 D-III Manteca.
20. Sacramento (9-2)

Optimist All-Star Football update - The 57th Optimist All-Star Game will be played Dec. 28 at Folsom as a finale to the season, a week after the CIF State Bowl games in Carson.

Following decades as a summer event, the Optimist moved to the winter last year to better ensure the participation of scholarship players.

This season, scholarship commit players to receive invitations include: Cosumnes Oaks receiver Alex Van Dyke (UCLA) and tackle Kameron Schroeder (Duke); Capital Christian lineman Nifae Lealao (Stanford); Burbank running back Calvin Green and defensive tackle Ngalu Tapa (both to Washington State); Woodland cornerback Devin Jones (Colorado State); Pleasant Grove cornerback Brandon Lewis (Boise State); Granite Bay tight end Dylan Keeney (Colorado) and Inderkum defensive back Jordan Thomas (Arizona State).

This doesn't mean other players won't be invited, but the Optimist expects nominations. Send to jdavidson@sacbee.com
