Former Granite Bay volleyball player is All-Academic Pac-12

Former Granite Bay High School volleyball standout Caitlyn Francis, now competing for Arizona State, has been named to the Pac-12 All-Academic Women's Volleyball Team.

Known by her maiden name Caitlyn Murphy in high school, the senior has maintained a 4.0 grade point average while playing libero for the Sun Devils. It was her third selection, having been named in previous years to the first and the second team.

To be eligible for selection, students must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA and be either a starter or significant contributor.

Francis has played in 26 matches and started 11 for Arizona State (19-13). The psychology and human development major started her college career at Cal before transferring to Arizona State.

Two other former prep standouts, UCLA junior Zoe Nightingale (St. Francis) and Washington sophomore Lianna Sybeldon (Ponderosa) made honorable mention.
