Jesuit, Cosumnes Oaks, Del Oro, Del Campo win boys titles

Led by MVP and Air Force commit Lake Lutes (19 points) and all-tournament selections Isaiah Bailey (21 points) and Brady Anderson (16 points), No. 2 Jesuit (12-0) defeated Encina 72-60 to win the 38th Annual Cordova Christmas Classic boys basketball championship tonight at Cordova High School.

In other tourney events of note:

• No. 3 Sacramento (8-2) defeated Santa Monica 72-64 in the semifinals of the Holiday Hardwood Invitational at Westlake High School. The Dragons will play 12-0 El Cerrito for the championship on Monday.

• Colin Russell's 19 points wasn't enough as No. 4 Folsom (10-1) fell 56-55 to JW North of Riverside in the Bulldogs' bracket of the 100-team MaxPreps Holiday Classic in Palm Springs.

• No. 5 Sheldon (3-6) fell 74-61 to O'Dea-Seattle in the Under Armour Holiday Classic in San Diego. Devin Greene led the Huskies with 15 points. Sheldon lost earlier to Cal-Hi state No. 4 Loyola of Los Angeles and Torrey Pines.

• Alex Van Dyke led four players in double figures with 15 points as No. 6 Cosumnes Oaks (12-1) defeated East Union 82-59 in the Lincoln of Stockton tournament finale.

• Despite 32 points by Jalen Coates, No. 7 Burbank (9-2) fell 79-76 to Salesian of Richmond in the semifinals of the Modesto Christian Hoops Classic. The Titans will play Deer Valley of Antioch on Monday.

• MVP Kyle Setterlund and all-tourney selections Connor Drake and Jack Huizenga helped lead No. 8 Del Oro (12-1) to a 54-34 win over Whitney in the Whitney tournament in Rocklin.

• MVP Vasilije Saraba had 14 points and 11 rebounds and all-tournament Modesta Britten 12 points and nine rebounds to lead No. 10 Del Campo (12-2) over host Placer 63-61 in the championship game of the 72nd Kendall Arnett tournament. Braxton Knox and Joe Ramirez also made all-tourney for Del Campo.
