The Raiders released five players Monday to get the roster down to 75, a day before Tuesday's deadline. Those sent home were receivers Shawn Bayes, an undrafted rookie from Kent State, and Will Franklin, a second-year player who had been claimed on waivers after being cut by Detroit, defensive tackle Joe Cohen, who had signed with the team last week, offensive guard Marcus Johnson, who was signed in the offseason to purportedly give the Raiders depth on the line, and undrafted rookie center Jon Compas, the UC Davis product.
