Bruce Gradkowski has strained MCL's in each knee, making the likelihood of his season being finished a strong possibility. And yet, coach Tom Cable could not bring himself during his Monday media conference to name JaMarcus Russell the starting quarterback heading into Denver on Sunday.
Read between the lines all you want and come up with what you will, but this sounds like Cable has lost total confidence in the former No. 1 overall draft pick. Could this mean Charlie Frye gets the call to make his Raiders debut? Stay tuned. Cable said he would name a starter on Wednesday.

Defensive lineman Richard Seymour has been through this before, the gritty team leader of a quarterback being lost to injury and his backup coming in and the team seemingly not losing a step. Except Gradkowski is not Tom Brady, Russell is not Matt Cassel and the Raiders are not the New England Patriots.
So, you see, its not as easy is simply plugging in a backup QB and everything runs smooth.
"No it's not," Seymour told reporters Monday. "I think quarterback is a different position than most on the field. They really make a lot of decisions with the football and I think your team really rides on that so I'm not saying anything you guys don't know. You know? You know. It is what it is."
