Just spent a few minutes on the sidelines with Lawrence Pervier, a Marysville High School graduate and U.S. Army rifle platoon sergeant who just finished his second tour of duty in Iraq. A lifelong Raiders fan who is based at Fort Bragg, Pervier is taking in his first Raiders game and was presented with field passes for his two sons and father-in-law by Raiders Chief Executive Amy Trask. Pervier said he is scheduled to be deployed to Afghanistan next.

RB Marcel Reese has been promoted from the practice squad to take the place of the suspended Luke Lawton, who is serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing substance policy.

Al Davis is not on this trip. Officially, he chose not to come so that his son Mark Davis could take the trip on the team charter, alongside his mother. Last year, Al Davis did not attend the season finale at Tampa Bay, ostensibly for the same reason. Though that game was three weeks after Davis took a nasty spill in San Diego.
