ALAMEDA - There have been reports running back Darren McFadden is out for Thursday's game against the San Diego Chargers because of a foot strain.
Raider coach Hue Jackson said McFadden's status has not been determined.
"He's not ruled out yet," Jackson said. "Tomorrow we'll make that total determination exactly where he is."
McFadden still isn't running so anything other than McFadden being ruled out would be a shock.
More injuries
The Raiders had a long list of players on the injury report today:
Did not participate: T Khalif Barnes (shoulder), K Sebastian Janikowski (left hamstring), C Samson Satele (knee), DT Richard Seymour (ankle), CB DeMarcus Van Dyke (hamstring), S Mike Mitchell (knee), S Chinedum Ndukwe (knee), CB Chris Johnson (groin, hamstring), QB Jason Campbell (broken collarbone), S Michael Huff (ankle).
Huff is still in a walking boot. That has to be the biggest concern. Barnes and Satele both said they would play Thursday.
Limited participation: RB Rock Cartwright (calf), LB Rolando McClain (ankle), CB Chimdi Chekwa (hamstring).
Full participation: QB Carson Palmer (quadriceps), FB Marcel Reece (shoulder), S Matt Giordano (neck).
More than man
Much has been made of how the Raiders play defense with Chuck Bresnahan back as defensive coordinator.
More blitzing and more zone looks are a part of the scheme more than they have been in recent years.
Chargers coach Norv Turner noted a difference in discussing the Raiders on today's conference call.
"Obviously defensively they're a lot different," Turner said. "They have a complete package and they're using it all, playing in a very aggressive manner."
