Round 7: Raiders select LB Stupar

ALAMEDA -- With their final pick of the draft, the Raiders selected linebacker Nathan Stupar out of Penn State with the 230th overall pick.

Stupar is listed at 6-foot-2, 241 pounds. He had 80 tackles in his senior year for the Nittany Lions.

The Raiders used four of their six picks on defensive players.

Round 6: Raiders take DL Bilukidi, another late football convert

ALAMEDA -- The Raiders have drafted defensive lineman Christo Bilukidi in the sixth round (189th overall).

Like the Raiders' fifth-round pick Jack Crawford, Bilukidi is a big defensive lineman who was born outside the United States and didn't start playing football until his latter years of high school. Bilukidi's first season was his senior year at St. Patrick's High in Ottawa. He played the past two seasons at Georgia State, recording 89 tackles, including 16 for loss, and 10 sacks.

Round 5: Raiders select DE Crawford, WR Criner

ALAMEDA -- The Raiders used their two fifth-round picks to add depth at defensive end and receiver.

The Raiders traded down 10 spots in the round to take defensive end Jack Crawford of Penn State at 158th overall. They used their fifth-round compensatory pick, 168th overall, on receiver Juron Criner of Arizona.

Crawford has the more unique path to the NFL. A native of England, he moved to the United States in high school with a basketball background and only began playing football as a junior in high school.

Round 5: Raiders trade down, add seventh-rounder

ALAMEDA -- The Raiders have traded one of their fifth-round picks, the 148th overall, to the Detroit Lions for the 158th and 230th overall picks.

The Raiders still pick twice in the fifth round (158th and 168th) and now have a pick in the seventh round as well (230th).

They had traded away their seventh-rounder for linebacker Aaron Curry last year.

Round 4: Raiders take Granite Bay's Burris

ALAMEDA -- Miles Burris was at home with family in Granite Bay when he received the call telling him he'd be a Raider. It got so loud, he said, that he had to leave the room to hear the voice on the other line.

Burris, who attended Granite Bay High school and said he grew up a Raiders fan, was taken in the fourth round of the NFL Draft out of San Diego State by Oakland.

Burris was the Raiders' second pick of this year's draft. They picked offensive lineman Tony Bergstrom with the last pick of the third round Friday night.

Begstrom said he also has Sacramento-area ties, having served a two-year Mormon mission in the south Sacramento and Stockton areas after finishing high school in Utah.

Burris is 6-foot-2 and 246 pounds and known as a high-motor outside linebacker. Right now Aaron Curry and Philip Wheeler, recently signed to a free-agent deal after playing several seasons for the Colts, project as starters at outside linebacker.

"I talked to (the Raiders) at the Combine and I didn't know that they expressed interest in me and I'm just very excited to be a Raiders," Burris said.

Burris was a two-time all-Mountain West first-team selection at San Diego State. He led the Aztecs with 78 tackles in 2011 and had eight sacks. The Raiders will need somebody to rush the quarterback next season following the departure of linebacker Kamerion Wimbley, their sacks leader over the past two seasons.

Burris was a two-time all-Metro League selection at Granite Bay High. He played in a 3-3-5 defense at San Diego State and primarily played right outside linebacker. He said the Raiders have told him he will start at outside linebacker but could move around.

"I'm a very versatile player and I pride myself on being tough and playing through every game and practice no matter how I feel and no matter what's going on with my body," Burris said. "But I'm an explosive player and powerful player and I just love the game."

The Raiders will pick three more times today - twice in the fifth round and once in the sixth. This fourth-rounder was a compensatory pick. The Raiders traded their fourth-round pick for quarterback Jason Campbell in 2010.

Raiders take Bergstrom of Utah

ALAMEDA -- The Raiders have selected offensive lineman Tony Bergstrom of Utah with the 95th overall pick in the NFL Draft.

It was the Raiders' first pick of the draft, as they had already traded away their first- and second-round picks and used their third-round pick in the supplemental draft last year.

It was the first draft pick of Reggie McKenzie's tenure as general manager and the first Raiders pick since the death in October of iconic owner Al Davis, who ran the team's draft rooms for nearly a half-century after joining the Raiders in 1963.

The pick was announced at 7:58 p.m., about 27 hours after the Indianapolis Colts took Andrew Luck with the first overall pick on Thursday afternoon.
