Raiders middle linebacker Rolando McClain issued the following statement this afternoon about his legal matters and did not take any questions from the media.
McClain was convicted of , reckless endangerment, illegal discharge of a firearm and menacing last week in Alabama. McClain was sentenced to 180 days in jail and is free while appealing the conviction.
It incident occurred last November when McClain was in Alabama for a funeral.
"I'm aware of the bad publicity that I've given the Raiders. I talked with Coach Allen. I have the support of the Raiders, my teammates, as well as the coaching staff. I apologize for the bad publicity that has been put out there. It is a legal process so I can't talk much about it but I think in due time if the Raiders and the Raiders fans that are out there, we'll all see, it will all come to an end and it is what it is. I can't really talk much about it but it will be resolved in the near future."
