Third quarter: Magic 84, Kings 79
Turnovers (17 already) keep killing the Kings. Lazy passes. Baseline violations. Careless dribbling. They are still in the game, but a sequence midway into the third period proved very costly: Down 69-66, Samuel Dalembert missed two free throws, Beno Udrih's soft outlet pass was picked, Pooh Jeter mishandled the ball, leading to a acrobatic, two-handed reverse jam by Jason Richardson. The good news for the Kings is that Dalembert returned after getting hit in the eye in the first period. He was examined by Magic team physicans and cleared to continue. Hedo Turkoglu, by the way, is having a good game against his former. He already has 16 points and seven assists, including his usual lob entry passes for Dwight Howard throwdowns. And Jermaine Taylor continues making the most of his opportunity. He already has five assists and 21 points, including two beautiful reverse drives.
