The Kings are trading small forward Omri Casspi to the Cleveland Cavaliers for power forward J.J. Hickson, the team confirmed Thursday.
Hickson was the 19th pick in the 2008 draft and has career averages of 9.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 49.5 percent shooting. The Cavaliers selected fellow big man Tristan Thompson in last week's draft, leaving the team looking to fill a void at small forward.
Sports Illustrated's Sam Amick tweeted "Omri Casspi was told by Kings management that he is likely to be traded to Cleveland for JJ Hickson in the next couple hours."
The popular Israeli-born Casspi has mostly come off the bench for the Kings, shooting 41.2 percent from the field and averaged 8.6 points and 4.3 rebounds last season.
