In-game blog: Kings at Timberwolves

FINAL
Timberwolves 99, Kings 86

MINNEAPOLIS - The Kings ended their five-game road trip 1-4 after dropping their consecutive game.

Kevin Love led Minnesota with 33 points and 11 rebounds. And while Ricky Rubio gets a lot of attention, it was Luke Ridnour that hurt the Kings the most with 25 points and nine assists.

Rubio finished with nine points, eight rebounds and eight assists.

Marcus Thornton, Jason Thompson and Francisco Garcia each had 12 points for the Kings. Tyreke Evans had nine points, 10 assists and eight rebounds.

The Kings (4-10) had a season-high 20 assists, but couldn't slow down Minnesota late as the Timberwolves (5-8) exploited Kings' breakdowns on defense.

The Kings host Indiana Wednesday before another three-game road trip.


THIRD QUARTER
Timberwolves 67, Kings 62

MINNEAPOLIS - After holding Minnesota to 14 points in the second quarter, the Kings managed only 16 in the third to trail entering the fourth.

The starting guards for the Kings are having an off night. Tyreke Evans has missed eight of nine shots. Marcus Thornton has missed seven of his 10 shots. Evans, however does have a season-high nine assists and seven rebounds.

Kevin Love leads Minnesota with 22 points and 10 rebounds.

HALFTIME
Kings 46, Timberwolves 42

MINNEAPOLIS - The Kings overcame an eight-point deficit to lead at halftime. The Kings looked raggedy on offense to start the quarter before recovering to play better thanks to their bench.

Francisco Garcia, Jimmer Fredette and Jason Thompson combined for 20 of the Kings' 24 points in the quarter. The Kings held the Timberwolves to 14 points in the quarter, the fewest the Kings have held an opponent to in a quarter this season.

Thompson, DeMarcus Cousins and J.J. Hickson each have eight points for the Kings. Tyreke Evans has only three points, but he has six assists and seven rebounds.

Luke Ridnour leads Minnesota with 12 points and four assists.

FIRST QUARTER
Timberwolves 28, Kings 22

MINNEAPOLIS - The Timberwolves closed the first quarter on a 17-4 run to lake control after the Kings jumped on them early.

Both teams shot 50 percent.

DeMarcus Cousins and J.J. Hickson each have six points for the Kings. Luke Riduour has 10 points and three assists to lead the Timberwolves.

The Kings made 10 shots in the first quarter after making eight the entire first half last Saturday at Dallas.
