DALLAS - If the Kings are going to improve to 2-2 on this road trip they'll need to play well tonight against the Dallas Mavericks, who have won four in a row and are 7-5 after starting the season with three losses.
Here are five things to look for from the Kings tonight:
1. Aggressive Evans
Tyreke Evans is averaging 25 points, 6.2 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 2.2 steals in five games under Keith Smart.
"Tyreke is doing a good job at getting into the paint and trying to find people and that's what we're asking from him," Smart said.
2. Did the medicine work?
DeMarcus Cousins had a nasty cough last night. If he's still feeling sick he might not be able to do play a lot.
3. Bench energy
The Kings' reserves provided 42 points last night in Houston. The Kings could use more of that tonight.
4. Fredette on offense
Jimmer Fredette has scored in single digits in six of eight games this month. With Marcus Thornton likely to miss tonight's game with a left thigh contusion, the Kings need Fredette to score.
5. The shooting percentage
The Kings shot 43.8 percent last night and that was still better than their season average of 40.5 percent (29th in the NBA). When will the shots start falling?
