In-game blog: Kings routed by Memphis

FINAL
Grizzlies 113, Kings 96

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- The Memphis Grizzlies dominated the second half, turning a two-point game into a blowout.

Rudy Gay led the Grizzlies with 23 points and O.J. Mayo had 20 points off the bench.

Jimmer Fredtte led the Kings with 17 points. Isaiah Thomas added 15 points off the bench.

The Kings were dominated inside, giving up 72 points in the paint, even though the Grizzlies played without injured star Zach Randolph.

The Kings also had 19 turnovers that led to 24 points for the Grizzlies.

THIRD QUARTER
Grizzlies 87, Kings 68

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- The Kings couldn't keep the Grizzlies contained for consecutive quarters.

Five Grizzlies have scored in double figures, led by Rudy Gay's 23 points. The Kings aren't getting the guard production they need to compete.

Tyreke Evans, Marcus Thornton and Jimmer Fredette have combined to shoot 8-of-26.

J.J. Hickson has 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Kings but has missed seven of his 10 shots.

The Kings are shooting 37.7 while the Grizzlies are shooting 58.2 percent.

HALFTIME
Grizzlies 52, Kings 50

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- The Kings picked up the pace in the second quarter and turned what looked like a blowout out loss into a tight game.

The Kings made 12-of-18 shots in the second quarter and have gotten big contributions from the frontcourt. J.J. Hickson, Chuck Hayes and Travis Outlaw each have eight points for the Kings.

The Kings have also made 13-of-17 free throws.

Rudy Gay leads Memphis with 15 points.

FIRST QUARTER
Grizzlies 31, Kings 17

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- The Kings missed 15 of their 20 shots to fall behind the Memphis Grizzlies at FedExForum.

J.J. Hickson and Jason Thompson each have four points for the Kings. The Grizzles shot 14-of-24 and were led by Rudy Gay with 11 points.
