In-game blog: Kings vs. Clippers

FINAL
Clippers 108, Kings 100

The Clippers pulled away with a 12-4 run to start the fourth quarter en route to defeating the Kings at Power Balance Pavilion.

Chris Paul and Mo Williams combined for 20 points in the fourth quarter for the Clippers, who shot 47 percent in the game.

After making 57 percent of their shots from the floor in the first half, the Kings made just 14-of-39 shots (36 percent) in the second half.

DeMarcus Cousins finished with 23 points and 10 rebounds for the Kings (12-23). Marcus Thornton and Tyreke Evans each added 18 points.

Paul finished one assist shy of a double-double with 22 points and nine assists. Williams scored 18 points off the bench for the Clippers and Blake Griffin added 14 points and nine assists.

The Kings committed 18 turnovers. The Clippers finished with 30 assists to the Kings' 14.

THIRD QUARTER
Clippers 85, Kings 79

The Kings have cooled off from the floor after halftime and trail the Clippers by six heading into the fourth quarter.

DeMarcus Cousins leads all scorers with 19 points and has grabbed eight rebounds. Marcus Thornton has 18 points for the Kings, who are now shooting 49 percent after spending the entire first half above 50 percent.

Randy Foye has 16 points for the Clippers, who have also received 14 points and six rebounds from Blake Griffin and 14 points and six assists from Chris Paul. The Clippers are shooting 51 percent.

The Kings have committed 14 turnovers.

Kings forward J.J. Hickson landed hard after going up for a rebound and was helped to the locker room.

HALFTIME
Kings 57, Clippers 57

The Kings go into halftime tied with the Clippers after playing their reserves for much of a back-and-forth second quarter.

The Kings fell behind by 10 points at one point, then staged a furious rally to go ahead, 52-44, with 3:14 left in the half. The Clippers answered with a 13-5 run of their own.

Jimmer Fredette scored all 11 of his points in the quarter, including consecutive three-pointers that brought the Kings bench to its feet. Fredette also recorded a team-high three assists.

The Kings had one of their best shooting halves of the season, making 57 percent of their shots and 7-of-11 three-pointers. They did, however, commit nine turnovers.

DeMarcus Cousins has a game-high 13 points and five rebounds for the Kings. Marcus Thornton has 10 points.

Blake Griffin and Bobby Simmons each have a team-high 10 points for the Clippers. Chris Paul has seven points and five assists.

The Clippers are shooting 48 percent from the floor.

FIRST QUARTER
Clippers 28, Kings 25

The Kings shot well from the floor in the first quarter, including a 7-for-10 start, but committed six turnovers and trail the Los Angeles Clippers, 28-25.

DeMarcus Cousins leads the Kings with nine points and five rebounds. Marcus Thornton has eight points and Tyreke Evans has six points.

Clippers forward Blake Griffin leads all players with 10 points. Mo Williams and Bobby Simmons each scored six points off the bench for Los Angeles.

The Kings are shooting 58 percent from the floor (11-of-19), while the Clippers are shooting 43 percent (13-of-30).

The Clippers recorded four steals in the quarter, one game after the Utah Jazz had 13 steals against the Kings.
