If you were hoping to see Kobe Bryant put up 38 or more points tonight to take the NBA scoring title from the Thunders' Kevin Durant, you're out of luck.
The Lakers have announced that Bryant will sit out tonight's game against the Kings to rest up for the opening round of the playoffs. Thus, Durant wins the scoring title with a 28-point average. Bryant finished the season with a 27.9 average.
The Lakers, third seed in the Western Conference, open the playoffs at home on Sunday. Their opponent will be determined by Thursday night's games.
