SALT LAKE CITY -- The Kings blew a 13-point lead and Gordon Hayward's jumper with 4.5 seconds to play sent the Kings home with a loss.

Tyreke Evans led the Kings(3-9) with 19 points but sat nearly nine minutes of the fourth quarter while the lead evaporated.

DeMarcus Cousins had two costly fouls in the backcourt that led to free throws for the Jazz, but the Kings had a chance to win the game.

Out of a timeout the Kings called an isolation play for Aaron Brooks, but he was stripped (Brooks believes he was fouled) with 12.5 seconds to play to set up Hayward's shot.

Hayward led the Jazz (7-6) with 23 points.

SALT LAKE CITY - Four of the five Kings' starters have scored in double figures to keep Sacramento ahead.

Tyreke Evans has a game-high 17 points. He also has a team-high five assists. Aaron Brooks has a season-high 17 points.

The Kings are still shooting well (54.2 percent) and had only one turnover in the third quarter.

Marvin Williams has 16 points to lead Utah. Jamaal Tinsley has eight assists filling in for injured starter Mo Williams.

Kings 53, Jazz 52

SALT LAKE CITY - The Kings are accustomed to receiving strong efforts from it's bench, but it's Utah's reserves that are keeping this game close.

Utah has 22 bench points. The Kings aren't bad with 16, but if not for the Jazz bench, the Kings might be comfortably ahead.

Gordon Hayward (11 points) and Derrick Favors (eight points) have led Utah's bench.

Tyreke Evans has 12 points to lead the Kings. Aaron Brooks has 10 points and Jason Thompson has nine points. Jimmer Fredette added seven points off the bench.

The Kings have been in control most of the half even with little production from DeMarcus Cousins (two points, four rebounds).

The Kings are shooting 52.5 percent (21 of 40). The Jazz are at 43.9 percent (18 of 41) but have made 14 of 16 free throws. The Kings have also allowed eight points off 10 turnovers.

The Jazz are also beating the Kings in paint points (24-18), an area the Kings have done well in this season.

The Jazz will be without starting point guard Mo Williams, who could not stay on the court after returning from a sprained right ankle suffered in the first quarter.

SALT LAKE CITY -- The Kings are off to a good shooting start, having made 13 of 21 shots in the opening quarter.

Aaron Brooks has 10 points and two assists for the Kings. Jason Thompson has seven points.

The Jazz shot 9 of 22 and were able to cut into the Kings' 10-point lead behind the play of reserves Gordon Hayward (six points) and Derrick Favors (two points).
