In-game blog: Kings at Lakers

FINAL
Lakers 103, Kings 90

Playing without two of their top interior players, the Kings had little chance of slowing the Lakers and have now lost two games in a row.

Jason Thompson fouled out with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Jimmer Fredette led the Kings (2-5) with 17 points off the bench.

Dwight Howard had 23 points and 18 rebounds to lead the Lakers.

Kobe Bryant had 20 points while Pau Gasol and Metta World Peace each had 18 points for the Lakers (3-4).

THIRD QUARTER
Lakers 79, Kings 66

The Kings shot 32 percent in the third quarter and the Lakers continued to take advantage of Sacramento's lack of size.

Jason Thompson had 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Kings while Isaiah Thomas has 13 points.

Kobe Bryant has 20 points. The inside duo of Dwight Howard (16 points, 12 rebound, three blocked shots) and Pau Gasol (16 points, five rebounds, two blocked shots) has been too much for the undermanned Kings.

HALFTIME

Lakers 57, Kings 48

LOS ANGELES -- Jason Thompson has 10 points filling in at center for DeMarcus Cousins, but the Kings haven't been able to keep up with Kobe Bryant (15 points, 3 assists) and Dwight Howard (14 points, 10 rebounds).

The Kings have stayed in the game with some solid contributions from the bench. Jimmer Fredette has seven points in four minutes. Chuck Hayes has six points.

The Kings have been outrebounded 26-16 without Cousins.

FIRST QUARTER
Lakers 29, Kings 22

LOS ANGELES -- Playing without suspended center DeMarcus Cousins, the Kings trail the Lakers at Staples Center.

Travis Outlaw started at power forward and Jason Thompson moved to center for the Kings.

Thompson had five points for the Kings while Tyreke Evans led the Kings with six points.

Metta World Peace led the Lakers with seven points.
