The good shooting of DeMarcus Cousins and Tyreke Evans wasn't enough to overcome 17 turnovers and balanced scoring from Brooklyn.
Cousins made all nine of his shots in the second half to finish 12 of 21 with a season-high 29 points. Evans was 8 of 14 with 21 points. But only one other King scored in double figures.
Six Nets (6-2) scored in double figures, led by Andray Blatche with 22 points.
The Kings (2-8) also gave up 22 points off 17 turnovers.
THIRD QUARTER
Nets 74, Kings 65
Andray Blatche finally missed a shot but the Kings still trail Brooklyn.
DeMarcus Cousins (18 points, seven rebounds, two assists) and Tyreke Evans (17 points, seven rebounds) were both effective in the third quarter. But that still wasn't enough to overtake the Nets.
The Kings have 13 turnovers, six coming in the third quarter.
Blatche made his first 10 shots and is shooting 11 of 12 for 22 points.
HALFTIME
Nets 54, Kings 42
It was the Andray Blatche show much of the second quarter. The backup forward for Brooklyn made all six of his shots in the quarter and is 9 of 9 for the game with 18 points.
Overall the Kings allowed Brooklyn to shoot 53.7 percent. Deron Williams has eight of Brooklyn's 15 assists. The Kings have four assists through two quarters.
Tyreke Evans leads the Kings with 10 points and four rebounds. DeMarcus Cousins had six points but is shooting 3 of 12.
FIRST QUARTER
Kings 21, Nets 20
The Kings changed things up.
*James Johnson and Isaiah Thomas are out as starters, replaced by John Salmons and Aaron Brooks.
*Jimmer Fredette was the first point guard off the bench instead of Thomas. Fredette had been the No. 3 point guard all season.
But that Nets closed the quarter on a 13-5 run to take the lead.
Brook Lopez has eight points to lead Brooklyn. Deron Williams already has three assists.
Tyreke Evans leads the Kings with six points and four rebounds.
