In-game blog: Kings at Suns

FINAL
Suns 101, Kings 90

PHOENIX - The Kings wasted a 19-point lead in the first half and lost their fifth consecutive game Monday night at US Airways Center.

Shannon Brown had 22 points and Jared Dudley had 20 points for the Suns (10-15), who won their third game in a row.

Jimmer Fredette had 22 points off the bench for the Kings (7-17). The Kings were held to 36 points in the second half.

THIRD QUARTER
Suns 74, Kings 68

PHOENIX - Well that didn't work out too well.

After leading by 19 in the second quarter, the Kings will now have to rally to pull out a victory.

DeMarcus Cousins picked up his fourth foul early in the third and not much else went right from there.

The Suns opened the quarter on a 16-4 run to take a 59-58 lead. The Kings shot 31.8 percent in the quarter (7 of 22) while the Suns shot 61.9 percent (13 of 21).

Shannon Brown had 14 of his 18 points in the third, matching the Kings' total for the quarter.

HALFTIME
Kings 54, Suns 43

PHOENIX - The Kings led by as many as 19 points thanks to 30 points coming from their bench.

Jimmer Fredette led the way with 12 points. Thomas Robinson had six points and eight rebounds.

The Kings have been able to get out in transition, which helps, too. Sacramento has 16 fast break points and is shooting 47.7 percent (21 of 44). The Kings also have a 30-19 rebounding advantage.

The second unit played almost the entire second quarter. Along with the scoring, the reserves have seven of the Kings' 11 assists.

Jared Dudley has nine points to lead the Suns. Marcin Gortat has eight points and eight rebounds.

FIRST QUARTER
Kings 22, Suns 16

PHOENIX - Coming off their worst shooting performance, the Kings have run into a team with its own shooting struggles.

The Phoenix Suns opened the game shooting 6 of 23 and the Kings have capitalized to take the lead. The Suns missed all seven of their three-point attempts.

Aaron Brooks and Francisco Garcia each have six points for the Kings. DeMarcus Cousins was limited to four minutes after picking up two fouls.

Luis Scola led the Suns with six points.

The Kings are without Tyreke Evans (sore left knee). Marcus Thornton is also not with the team (personal reasons).
