In-game blog: Kings at Nuggets

FINAL
Nuggets 121, Kings 93

DENVER - The Kings' six-game road trip began with a dud. The Kings were never in this game, falling behind by 20 in the first quarter and were never able to make the game competitive.

The Nuggets (27-18) led by as many as 35 points.

The Kings helped out Denver with 20 turnovers that led to 25 points for the Nuggets.

Ty Lawson led Denver with 25 points and six assists. Andre Iguodala had 20 points and seven assists.

Aaron Brooks had 16 points for the Kings (16-29). Sacramento has lost four games in a row. Thomas Robinson had 10 points and 10 rebounds.

IN his worst game in a while, DeMarcus Cousins had only three points, two rebounds and four assists to go with four steals.

Tyreke Evans had 15 points.

THIRD QUARTER
Nuggets 101, Kings 69

DENVER - The Kings held the Nuggets to their lowest scoring quarter of the night and still gave up 30 points.

The Nuggets are shooting 60.9 percent (39 of 64) and have been coasting most of the night. Denver has led by as many as 35 points. Six Nuggets have scored in double figures led by Ty Lawson's 26 points.

The Kings have been sloppy with the ball (18 turnovers) and shooting poorly (40.3 percent).

The Kings have given up 31 fastbreak points.

HALFTIME
Nuggets 71, Kings 49

DENVER - The Kings are still being beaten soundly. And apparently coach Keith Smart didn't like what he saw from his two best players as Tyreke Evans and DeMarcus Cousins sat the entire second quarter.

Cousins is scoreless with three assists in eight minutes. Evans has three points in seven minutes. Each player has a turnover.

The only active player Smart hasn't tried is Travis Outlaw, but at this rate it can't be long before Outlaw gets a chance.

The Nuggets are doing whatever they want on offense, shooting 61.7 percent from the field. Denver already has 23 assists and only six turnovers. Andre Iguodala has 17 points and Ty Lawson has 15 points and six assists.

Denver's shooting percentage, made field goals (29) and assists were season highs for a Kings' opponent in a half.

Isaiah Thomas has 10 points to lead the Kings. Marcus Thornton has eight points off the bench.

FIRST QUARTER
Nuggets 39, Kings 25

DENVER - The Kings began this road trip by matching their season high for points allowed in a quarter and falling behind by as many as 20 points.

The Nuggets shot 73.9 percent (17 of 23) and scored 13 fast break points.

The Kings shot 34.5 percent (10 of 29) and committed five turnovers.

Ty Lawson set the pace for the Nuggets with 15 points and five assists. John Salmons has eight points for the Kings.

Kings coach Keith Smart has already used 10 players.
