Cousins makes the call to have tech rescinded

Kings center DeMarcus Cousins had one of his technical fouls had been rescinded by the league, leaving him with 11 for the season.

The rescinded technical was from the Kings' Feb. 1 loss at Philadelphia.

"I actually made the call myself," Cousins said. "Luckily enough they rescinded it and we're good."

Cousins was assessed a technical foul with 2:12 left in the third quarter against the 76ers.

Cousins dove on the floor for a steal and was called for a foul. He slammed the ball down as he sat on the floor and was whistled for the technical.

Cousins said after the game he wasn't even mad at the official at the time, he was upset he committed a foul instead of securing the ball.

Cousins is one technical ahead of Los Angeles Clippers forward Matt Barnes for most in the league.

If Cousins were to reach 16 technical fouls he would be suspended for one game and be suspended for every other technical to go with a $5,000 fine.

Cousins picked up two technical fouls and was ejected in Monday's overtime loss at Utah.

It was Cousins' league-leading third ejection.

"I'm disappointed in myself that I let my emotions get the best of me," Cousins said. "I should of just walked away but the same time I needed an explanation as to why I got the first tech, which I still haven't gotten. But it happens, I've moved on."
