The Morning After: The minuses of the second unit

PHILADELPHIA - The Kings have been outscored 64-30 in the second quarter of their last two games.

One constant in that stretch has been the game getting out of hand with the reserves in during the second quarter.

Here are how the plus/minus breakdowns for some of the key backups in the last two games:

Aaron Brooks: minus-27 in 13 minutes
Chuck Hayes: minus-13 in 26 minutes
Jimmer Fredette: minus-2 in 22 minutes
Marcus Thornton: minus-19 in 50 minutes
Thomas Robinson: at zero plus/minus in 28 minutes

It should be noted Fredette hasn't been a part of the second unit during the second quarter. Also Francisco Garcia was a minus-13 off the bench Friday and a minus-15 as a starter Wednesday.

Keith Smart likes to lean on his bench more in the second of back-to-back games. That could prove risky if this trend continues.
