DeMarcus Cousins did not practice Friday because of a left quad contusion suffered in Sunday's loss to Milwaukee.
"He went from light conditioning (Thursday) to now where you've got to put in the concept of moving laterally all over the floor and that's something he did not have today," said Kings coach Keith Smart.
The Kings defeated Chicago, 121-79, on Wednesday without Cousins. The Kings are planning as if Cousins will not be available this Sunday when the Kings play at the Los Angeles Lakers.
"If he can go it's a bonus," Smart said.
