Some quick updates from a busy Friday for the Kings:
Besides hosting Trey Burke for a pre-draft workout, a source confirmed Chris Jent will join the Kings coaching staff as Michael Malone's lead assistant.
Jent has been an assistant coach at Ohio State for two seasons after serving as an assistant with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Jent worked with Malone while he was also an assistant with the Cavaliers.
Jent is the second coach to join Malone's staff. Malone had already stated his father, longtime NBA coach Brendan, would be on the staff.
Another name to monitor as Malone fills out his staff is Roy Rogers.
He's highly sought after for his work with big men.
Rogers was on Lawrence Frank's staff in Detroit and credited with the strides made by Greg Monroe and rookie Andre Drummond's development.
Jent is noted for improving the shooting of his players.
Sources say Chris Jent is done. He is joining Michael Malone's staff here in Sac.— Ailene Voisin (@ailene_voisin) June 7, 2013
Former Indiana general manager David Morway interviewed with the Kings. Morway worked under Larry Bird - whom new majority owner Vivek Ranadive is after to run basketball operations - before being replaced with Kevin Pritchard by Bird.
The relationship between Bird and Morway apparently didn't end well but Morway has been a candidate for jobs since, including Orlando and Portland.
