Former Kings player and assistant coach Mike Bratz is on his way to Sacramento to finalize a deal to become the Kings' new assistant general manager.
Bratz had served as director of college scouting for the Denver Nuggets since 2008 and will be reunited with new Kings general manager Pete D'Alessandro, who was hired from Denver.
Before joining Denver, Bratz worked for the Cleveland Cavaliers in various roles, including scout, director of player personnel and director of basketball operations from 2000-07.
So Bratz was also in Cleveland while Michael Malone was an assistant coach with the Cavaliers.
Bratz was an assistant coach with the Kings from 1991-97 and an assistant with Washington (1999-00).
Bratz played nine seasons in the NBA with stops in Phoenix, Cleveland, San Antonio, Chicago, Golden State and Sacramento.
Bratz is a Stanford graduate and a member of its Athletic Hall of Fame.
