Kings coach Malone adds assistant coaches, scout to staff

The Kings' first Summer League game in Las Vegas isn't until Saturday afternoon against the Dallas Mavericks, but it was a busy Tuesday morning for first-year Kings coach Michael Malone.

After putting his rookies and free-agents through their second day of mini-camp in Las Vegas, Malone announced the team has added two assistant coaches and a team scout to his staff.

Dee Brown, a 12-year NBA veteran, was named assistant coach and is also Director of Player Development. Micah Nori, a former Indiana University four-year star, is an assistant coach, and Bill Pope as advance scout.

Brown and Nori will join lead assistant coach Chris Jent and assistant coach Brendan Malone on the Kings' bench.

Brown, a first-round pick of the Boston Celtics, is best remembered for his "no-look" dunk to win the 1991 All-Star Slam Dunk Contest.

Nori was most recently an assistant coach with the Toronto Raptors. Pope recently held the same position of advance scout for the Detroit Pistons.
