Kings Blog and Q&A

News, observations and reader questions about the Sacramento Kings and the NBA.

Kings, Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, Dee Brown, Slamdunk, WNBA

Tuesday was an unusual day for the Kings, even by their recent standards. We will have more to say about the acquisition of small forward Luc Richard Mbah a Moute - like this move very much - as well as the earlier moves for Greivis Vasquez and Carl Landry - like these moves as well. But the addition of Dee Brown as the Kings player development coach will serve as a constant reminder of how much this community misses the WNBA: Brown, who was drafted by the Boston Celtics in 1990 and was fortunate enough to experience the final seasons of the Bird-McHale-Parish-DJ combination, is the former head coach of the (defunct) Orlando Miracle and the WNBA's San Antonio Silver Stars.

Besides all of the above, we sports writers always appreciated the fact that, even though surrounded with the dynamic personalities within that fabled Cetlics locker room, he chimed right in.
