LAS VEGAS - NBA commissioner David Stern and deputy commissioner Adam Silver were complimentary of the job the Vivek Ranadive-led ownership group has done since taking over the Kings.
The Kings lead the NBA in new season ticket sales and are on course to secure more corporate sponsorships.
Stern also said progress is being made toward building the new downtown arena.
"Plans are straight ahead with respect to the building and acquiring the final pieces of property," Stern said after Thursday's Board of Governors meeting. "And particularly very strong season ticket sales that place them in the upper echelon and leading the league in some categories in terms of season tickets, and some aggressive projection for sponsorship sales. So that was a good story."
Said Silver: "I'd just add I'd give them an 'A.' They lead the league in new season ticket sales and they've put in place an excellent management group and they're doing all the right things with an enormous amount of enthusiasm. So we're thrilled from a league standpoint at the early developments of new ownership group."
