LAS VEGAS - There were two players that practiced Sunday night with the Kings summer league team that are not on the roster.
Isaiah Thomas and Marcus Thornton are in town and practice, much to the delight of coach Michael Malone.
"(Practicing Sunday shows) their commitment and their willingness to buy in," Malone said. "Not many guys come to Vegas and if they do come they'll watch practice. I asked them, 'If you want to practice we'd love to have you.' They both got their gear on and worked hard and they definitely raised the level of intensity in practice tonight. It means a lot to me because it shows they want to change."
Thomas noted the vibe from the new coaching staff. And it's one he likes. Like Thornton, who said Saturday, Thomas is looking forward to playing for Malone.
"It's a 100-percent change," Thomas said. "It just reminded me of college practice. Even though they don't have the whole team here, it's just the summer league team, everyone's dialed in. There's no talking on the side, just focus. Just focus on getting better and attention to detail, just doing the right things. So I can't wait for this season to start."
